Adoption Terms

Rats must be at least six weeks old before they leave the rattery. All rats are adopted out as pets only unless otherwise agreed. Rats must be adopted in same sex pairs unless you currently have a rat of the same sex it will live with.

Rats will NOT be sold as feeders or to produce feeders.

If for any reason you are unable to care for a rat or rats adopted from Star Rats Rattery they need to be returned to me. Unwanted rats are not to be given away or sold to anyone. This insures the rat or rats do not end up in harms way.

All rats bred at Star Rats Rattery come with a fourteen day health guarantee. The guarantee is void if the rats show any signs of injury from trauma or neglect. I am not responsible for veterinary bills and rats not bred at Star Rats Rattery are not covered.

We do not ship at this time.

Reservations

To make sure a baby rat or rats you want will be available when they reach six weeks of age a non-refundable $5 paid via PayPal is needed to hold the rats or rat for you. Rats will not be put on hold until the payment is received. The reservation fee is $5 regardless of how many rats you are reserving. Reservations can only be placed after you have been approved for adoption.

Reservations are non-refundable.

Receiving Your Rats

Since I operate a "closed rattery" to prevent the spread of diseases to my rats I meet adopters in a public place.

You will need to bring an appropriate travel carrier when you pick up your rat(s). If you are coming a long way then I recommend bringing some fruit for the rats so they don't get dehydrated. Water bottles tend to leak because of the movement of the car.

I will answer any unresolved questions you may have at this time.

Adoption Fees

Adults-

$10-20 each

*The fee for an adult is waived if two or more babies from the nursery are also being adopted. Adopt 3 or more of the same sex and receive $5 off the total.

Babies in the Nursery-

$25 for Top Ear

$30 for Dumbo

+$5 for Rex

All rats come with a small bag of food and a care sheet.
