I'm glad you decided to stop by. We are located in Wilton NY. Feel free to look around and contact me if you have any questions. A little bit about my rattery: I  started breeding rats in 2005 and still to this day have that same excitement about rats that I've had from day one. I always try to give all my rats the best lives and care possible and sincerely care for each and every one. I never use pine or cedar bedding because of the harmful oils they both contain. I only feed the highest quality diet of dog kibble, fresh fruits, veggies, grains, and the occasional special treat. I always try to keep my rattery as clean as possible. Every cage is cleaned with a diluted bleach solution or vinegar once a week and new bedding is added. It is a very time consuming process, but it has to be done the right way. A clean and healthy environment is key to making sure the rats are happy and healthy. As for breeding itself, female rats are not bred before four months of age and are bred no more than three times during their breeding periods. Babies are weaned at 5-6 weeks depending on the litter. I usually keep all retired female breeders since I tend to grow fond. Plus, it’s neat to have three or even four generations of rats all lined up! Thanks for taking time out of your day to visit Star Rats Rattery.
